1960S DUTCH
cantilevered armchair in bent plywood
cantilevered armchair in bent plywood
Mid-century design in the manner of Finnish architect Alvar Aalto who created his earlier groundbreaking Model 31 in 1930. A single sheet of bent plywood for the seat is suspended between a pair of u-shaped bent birchwood frames that eliminates the need for back legs. Flowing organic contours in a classic design. An exceptional pair of lounge chairs - probably made in The Netherlands in the 1960s.
