Italian-born Giuseppe Scapinelli (1891-1982) began a long-lived and successful furniture design and retail business after emigrating to Brazil. His manufacturing company Fábrica de Móveis Giesse in São Paulo produced a large body of modernist pieces that are highly collected. This pair has a lightly-stained hardwood frame with angled legs and seat back with exaggerated boomerang form arms. Brass caps to front legs. Recently upholstered in a light gray boucle' fabric. Exceptional. Sold individually, pair available.. Seat height 15.8".
