The prolific French-Swiss husband and wife team of Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet rejected the exotic of the Art Deco movement and centered their organic design studio in Côte d'Azur, France in the late 1920s on natural rustic materials incorporated into more soulful furniture pieces. This pair of armchairs are classic Audoux-Minet (attributed) with a dark-stained beechwood frame containing visible connecting joints. Detailed turned elements add playfulness to the elongated seat and exaggerated arms. Woven abaca (hemp) rope in their centered square signature pattern. 1950s France. Pair available, sold separately. Seat height is 14.2"
