Danish-born Knud Kyhn (1880-1969) worked closely with Royal Copenhagen 's porcelain factory for several periods of his life. His creation of playful animal sculptures started in the late 1920s with a particular note for his exquisite mottled brown/tan/umber Sung glaze with continued production thru 1970s. This pair of early large-scale "fighting duck" figurines has that perfect set of Sung color tones including the less common blue in the wings. This is an early version - dated to 1938 by back stamp.
