18thc Italian Baroque painted oakwood chest

An exceptional chest created in the late 1700s in Italy, likely as a marriage chest, with a rare series of rich carvings (both gilt and trompe-l’oeil decoration).  Case edges and key plates are finely worked perforated brass.  No key.
