Ekström (1913-1988) is regarded as one of the most significant and influential designers during the golden age of Swedish furniture design in the 1950s and 1960s. His frequent use of bent beechwood remains stylishly modern. This lounge chair is the lesser known "Contino" model and wider/sturdier than his famous "Lamino" chair. Recently updated with an orange velvet upholstery. Produced by Swedese, Sweden, 1970s.
